It all started in the 90s when Markus got a custom neck from Johannes. This neck, which according to our philosophy is the most important part of a bass anyway, accompanied Markus for many years during his studies at the Cologne University of Music, on tours and in studio recordings with Bill Stewart, Kevin Hays, Max Mutzke, John Davis, Julian and Roman Wasserfuhr, the WDR Big band or most recently in his current project with Victor Gould, who also plays keys with Esperanza Spalding.
Now it is time to renew this connection to VINCENT and to go into the future together. With our new TrueTone instruments, we have laid the foundation stone. Markus is now playing our new Akkurat PJ 5 on stage, on television shows and in the studio.
We also congratulate Markus on his new teaching position as professor for electric bass and double bass at the University of the Arts Bremen from the summer semester 2020. We look forward to the renewed collaboration and to fat and deep tones with Markus and the Vincent Akkurat PJ 5.
